Among various types of corroles, the superstructured bis-picket-fence corroles derived from 2,6-dibromobenzaldehyde may serve as excellent non-natural porphyrinoids for use in catalytic studies, coordination chemistry and heme-protein analogues. These brominated corroles also offer an easy approach towards bis-pocket bulky corroles via functionalization by Suzuki cross-coupling reaction.
